This RV storage rack installs easily to the rear exterior bumper bar of your RV with the included mounting kit, and when not in use, it can be flipped down to reduce the RV's footprint. It can also be used on campers or 5th wheels with rear bars. The perpendicular post that extends from the center of the carrier is designed to be used as a spare tire holder when the empty carrier is stored in the upright position. Because spare tires generally weigh 40 - 50 lbs. by themselves, we only recommend using this carrier to hold a tire if there is no other cargo being transported. Otherwise, this could overload the carrier's weight capacity and potentially cause damage to injury.
